The Japanese and Icelandic artists Taeko Mori and Mireya Samper bring their elements to Germany. Circle them up, connect them and express circle of life.
Circles of elements from Japan and Iceland are based on the rugged landscape in Iceland versus the quiet landscape in Japan, their mutual proximity to water as well as the constant threat of earthquakes and volcanic erupts thus expressing circle of life.
Their works can be seen as both realistic and abstract expressionist where they use all kinds of materials both directly form the nature as well as symbolic objects in direct dialogue with paper, ink, wax and silver leaf to clarify the expression in their images.
The exhibition shows site-specific installations and their recent works on paper, but both of them also work with sculpture and land-art. They are rich represented in museums and private collectors around the world.
