in KÜNSTLERHAUS LUKAS and NEUES KUNSTHAUS in AHRENSHOOP
The place
The Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop is one of the oldest artist houses in Germany and is still an important place for international artistic creation in a Northern European context. The Neue Kunsthaus shows all year round projects by guest curators from the grant program of the Künstlerhaus Lukas.
Tender
The Künstlerhaus Lukas is offering a two-month curatorial grant on the subject of art and the environment. Project partners are the Neue Kunsthaus and the National Park “Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft e.V .”.
Theme
The subject of sustainability or global warming has become an integral part of the public. But what about concrete changes in favor of nature or future generations? The project should force facts and possible ways of improvement. These environmental issues mean the relationship between humans and nature in a wide variety of contexts. The aim is to enable a public platform for the current burning questions of our time from this complex of topics in order to involve politicians, producers and consumers in the joint reflection and responsibility.
Scope
An exhibition is to be designed in the rooms of the Neue Kunsthaus and its outside space (see appendix floor plans). You are asked to submit a concept that can be implemented in the rooms of the New Kunsthaus and, if necessary, with the inclusion of the landscape or the location and its residents. In the connection of art and the environment, the project proposal should also have initial ideas for an accompanying program of four to six events, including specialist speakers, film presentations, hikes, activities, etc., to be integrated later. Around six artistic positions can be included, half of which are said to be former scholarship holders of the Künstlerhaus Lukas. Works of visual art, literature, video or music can be considered.
The redesign of the outside space of the Neues Kunsthaus was to be planned for a period of two years. This should show the visitors new perspectives on the connection between landscape / garden, sustainability and sculpture / installation.
