Leyniþjónustan er fyrsta einkasýning Rúnars Arnar Jóhönnu Marinósson.
Sýningin opnar í Midpunkt þann 31. október næst komandi.
Vegna heimsfaraldur verður opnun með lengra lagi svo gestir sýningarinnar geti dreift veru sinni út daginn.
Rúnar Örn verður með opnun frá 12 -19 á sjálfri Hrekkjavökunni, sem er skemmtileg tilviljun þar sem óeðlileg, dularfull, yfirnáttúruleg, undarleg og óstýrilátum fyrirbærum mun bregða fyrir á sýningunni Leyniþjónustan.
Sýningin Leyniþjónustan eða Secret Services er um skáldaða óopinbera stofnun, eins konar sálríkislögreglu, sem gegnir því hlutverki að rannsaka og útrýma óeðlilegum, dularfullum, yfirskilvitlegum, undarlegum og óstýrilátum fyrirbærum. Hvað flokkast sem slíkt getur verið erfitt að segja til um en hér virðast einhverskonar draugar vera á kreiki. Draugar geta átt sér ýmsan mismunandi uppruna, gleymd minning, miseftirminnileg atvik, slæm hugmynd, óþörf manneskja, jörðuð tilfinning. En óvíst er hvort þörf sé á að örvænta, Leyniþjónustan tekst á við hið torskiljanlega svo við þurfum ekki að gera það. Á þessari sýningu má líta niðustöðulausar rannsóknir hins óopinbera og þar eru til sýnis ýmis sönnunargögn, tæki og tól sem stofnunin hefur sankað að sér og notað í gegnum tíðina.
Sannleikurinn er úti.
Rúnar Örn Jóhönnu Marinósson er listamaður, hann útskrifaðist með BA gráðu frá myndlistardeild Listaháskóla Íslands vorið 2016 og hefur síðan þá sýnt á ýmsum samsýningum á Íslandi og erlendis, en þetta er hans fyrsta einkasýning. Í verkum sínum notar hann ýmsa miðla til að skoða hinar ýmsu tilraunir manneskjunar til að skilja og hafa stjórn á veruleika sínum og annara, bæði innri og ytri.

Secret Services is first solo show of the artist Rúnar Örn Jóhönnu Marinósson.
The exhibition opens its doors 31st October.
Because of the pandemic the opening will be longer then usual, so guest can spread their visits through out the day.
The opening will take place on 12:00 – 19:00 on Halloween, a very appropriate timing because unnatural, irrational, supernatural, indeterminate or mysterious phenomena will appear in the exhibition Secret Services.
Secret Services is a fictional and unofficial institution whose unsolicited purpose is to investigate and eliminate any unnatural, irrational, supernatural, indeterminate or mysterious phenomena. What constitutes as such is hard to define but on this occasion it would seem we are dealing with some kind of spectre, or a number of ghosts. Ghosts can be born in a number of ways, from a forgotten memory, a memorable or an unmemorable event, a bad idea, an unnecessary person or a buried emotion. It is unclear whether an interaction with these calls for despair. Secret Services deals with the hard to comprehend so we don’t have to. The institution’s inconclusive research is exhibited here through unreliable evidence, gadgets and devices that the agency has gathered and utilized through the ages.
Truth is out.
Rúnar Örn Jóhönnu Marinósson is an artist, he graduated with a BA from the Fine Art department of the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in the spring of 2016. Since then he has exhibited works at several group exhibitions, both in Iceland and elsewhere, but this is his first solo exhibition. In his practice he utilizes several mediums to explore and express the diverse efforts of human beings to understand, comprehend and control the internal and external realities of themselves and others.
