The Living Art Museum presents prik/ strik/ a solo show with new works by Kristín Rúnarsdóttir. Preview 13th November at 5pm in Núllið, Bankastræti 0, 101 Reykjavík.

For her exhibition in Núllið, Kristín has worked directly upon the exhibition space. The work spreads around the rooms from the floor onto the walls and up to the ceiling.

Seeking inspiration in rules and organization, Kristín bases her work on signs and markings associated with various areas where colour and line are used to define spaces ranging from sports stadiums to airfields, roads and parking areas. This institutional imagery takes on a new role when brought into the exhibition space. The proportions and characteristics of the underground space influence the rendering of drawings made in the artist’s studio.

Opening hours are Thursday – Sunday, from 2 – 6pm and by an appointment. The exhibition will run until 6th December.

Kristín Rúnarsdóttir (b. 1984) holds a Master’s Degree in Fine Art from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design in Norway, and a BA in Fine Art from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts. Her recent projects include the solo exhibition, ‘Leikfléttur / Strategies’ at Reykjanes Art Museum, an Arts Letters & Numbers residency in Upstate New York, the FUMF Art Collective publication Words Don’t Come Easy and participation in the interdisciplinary project Frontiers of Solitude.
