Ljós og skuggar tilraunasmiðja með listakonunum Guðrúnu Veru Hjartardóttir og Sigrúnu Halldóru Gunnarsdóttur í tengslum við sýninguna Fullt af litlu fólki. Í smiðjunni verða gerðar luktir og tilraunir með ljós og skugga. Á þessum tíma, þann 11. nóvember er Martinsmessan haldin hátíðleg um allan heim. Þegar myrkasta tíma ársins á Vetrarsólstöðum gengur í garð er sífellt mikilvægara að tendra hlýju og ljós í hjörtum manna og luktir Martinsmessu eru myndlíking fyrir þetta ferli. Þegar náttúran sefur verðum við að vera vakandi.
Fjölskyldustundir á laugardögum eru í boði Menningarhúsanna í Kópavogi sem eru Bókasafn Kópavogs, Gerðarsafn, Náttúrufræðistofa, Salurinn og Héraðsskjalasafn.
Smiðjan er opin öllum og er þátttaka gestum að kostnaðarlausu.
Experimental family workshop with artist Guðrún Vera and Sigrún Úa in relation to the exhibition Lots of tiny people. In the workshop guests will learn how to make lanterns and experiment with light and shadows. During this time Martin Mass is celebrated all over the world. During the darkest time of the year it is important to turn on the light and warmth in the hearts of people and the lanterns are symbolic of that action. When the nature is asleep it is important that people stay awake.
The event is hosted by the Culture Houses of Kópavogur, which host a diverse family program every week. The Culture Houses of Kópavogur are: Gerðarsafn Kópavogur Art Museum, Natural History Museum of Kópavogur, Salurinn Concert Hall, Kópavogur Archives and Kópavogur Public Library.
