Rúna Þorkelsdóttir opnar sýningun fimmtudaginn 23. júlí kl 17 í Iðnó . Sýningin verður opin daglega til 25. ágúst frá kl. 12. - 18.
Rúna Þorkelsdóttir er fædd í Hafnarfirði 1954.
Stundaði nám við Myndlista og Handíðaskóla Íslands, Konstfackskolan Stokkhólmi og Gerrit Rietveld Academie Amsterdam. Hefur sýnt á alþjóðlegum vettvangi síðan 1979 og er höfundur nokkurra bóka. Einn af stofnendum Boekie Woekie Amsterdam, listræn útgáfa. Býr og starfar í Amsterdam.

Hjá Rúnu Þorkelsdóttur vex allt, breytist, litir breytast en halda sínu formi, formið breytist en heldur sínum lit, eða hvort tveggja.
Að sína fram á síbreytileika alls er hennar köllun. Náttúruleg ferli og framsetning náttúrulegra ferla eru eitt og hið sama fyrir henni.
Það er hennar raunveruleiki sem hún hrærist í, framsetning þess raunveruleika.
Engin tvö prenta hennar eru eins þótt þau setji fram "hið sama’’. Þá sjáum við það sem er eins er ekki eins. Það er munur.
Er það ljósið sem hefur með tíma breyst eða hefur sjónin rökkvast, eða hvort tveggja, eða hvað?
Í stuttu máli, á sinn lágstemda hátt uppfyllir Rúna sitt ljóðræna hlutverk með áminningu um okkur sem ferðalanga í breytilegum heimi.

For Rúna Thorkelsdóttir all is growing, changing, changing colours but keeping its form, changing form but keeping its colours, or both.
To show that all is always changing is her vocation. Natural processes and to represent natural processes are one and the same for her.
They are the reality she lives in representing that reality.
Not two of her picture prints are the same though they show "the same". But we see the same is not the same. There is a difference.
Is it the light that had time to change or have eyes grown dimmer, or both, or what?
In short, with her subtle ways Rúna fulfills her tasks as a poet by reminding us of our being travellers in a changing world.
