Gestalistamenn Skaftfells í janúar, Helen Nisbet og Jennifer Schmidt, kynna verk sín og vinnuaðferðir miðvikudaginn 18. janúar kl. 17:00 í sýningarsal Skaftfells. Helen er starfar sem sýningarstjóri og dvelur í boði Transfer North netverksins. Jennifer starfar þvert á miðla með áherslu á myndmál og endurtekningu innan tiltekins umhverfis.

Spjallið fer fram á ensku og tekur u.þ.b. 60 mín.

Current artists-in-residence, Helen Nisbet and Jennifer Schmidt, will present their work and practice Wednesday January 18 at 17.00 in the Skaftfell gallery. Helen is a curator and her stay is a part of the Transfer North network. Jennifer is a multi-media artist living whose interest is on questioning the role of visual iconography and repetitive actions within a given environment.

The talk will be be in English and take approx 60 min.

Æviágrip / BioHelen Nisbet is a curator from the Shetland Islands who lives and works in London. She is currently the Curatorial Fellow at Cubitt Gallery in London. Previous to this she worked as curator for UP Projects, Open Source Festival and the Arts Council Collection. She has also commissioned public projects with the Contemporary Art Society, London and Creative Time, New York. Helen is the co-founder of collaborative duo Hi Barbara and founder of Shetland Night, a series of events celebrating the food and culture of her native islands.

Jennifer Schmidt is a multi-media artist living in Brooklyn, NY, who works with print media, graphic design, and sound to create site-specific installations, video, and performances that question the role of visual iconography and repetitive actions within a given environment. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Studio Art and Art History from the University of Delaware; and is Chair of the Print and Graphic Arts Department at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston, MA.
